Not the 80s but as late as the early 00s I remember you didn't walk into other schemes without a team or if you did you were expecting a fight. If you saw the young team you expected to get dug up about where you were fae and every park was always a war zone at night.

I remember fighting with the gorbals cumbie boys and there were some mad scenes. We had stashes of bottles and weapons and would wheel bins of bottles to the top of a hill and try lure them to the bottom.

Always remember getting chased up buchanan Street by a team of about 20 of them, me and 3 lads. They had samurai swords, lockbacks the lot wide out and open. We were picking up bits of bricks and whatever we could along the way.

The toon was always mental on Friday and Saturday and if you were looking for a box you'd get one. Everyone was berghaus, lacoste trackies and either slasher, dragon or aquas aquascutum hats. It was like a game to see how many accy hats you could accumulate without buying one. Had to steal them all which always involved scrapping.

Different schemes went to different schools and that was it. No idea to this day if the council just allowed it to stop the violence. Used to have cunts coming up from other schools at lunch to fight etc.
What other have said about getting to swimming or shopping centres in other schemes being a big deal was true. I mind honestly seeing people getting dragged aff buses fire escapes after being spotted and leathered.

The 80s were a rougher time.. I mind my uncle telling me loads of stories from that era
