Comment | Reading this brought back the memory of living on Buccleuch St in modern flats in my final year at GSA. The downstairs neighbour would go bananas at a bit of acoustic guitar plinking or the telly volume on more than 3. The flats were so badly built I could hear my flatmate turning over in bed in the next room and my other flatmate farting on the floor below. We moved out the minute we could. Easier said than done of course so the good advice of other commenters notwithstanding, try rugs on the laminate flooring, apparently talcum powder between laminate flooring can help (if you have laminate) to reduce creaking
