I know some people have said Beast can mean a tank of a guy, but most people I know born in the 90's will use it to describe something good. Could be someone showing off their new car and their friend would say "Aw man, that's a pure beast of a motor". I actually think this derived from people calling something big a beast, that also happened to be considered good. So then anything considered good just became a beast.
Depends on the context though, I've heard people use it to call a girl ugly. And some girls in my high school would call people beasties, which normally refers to a bug.
