| Comment | There was an even worse plan for Edinburgh, called the Abercrombie plan, which involved pretty much bulldozing the Old and New Towns and driving motorways across Princes Street Gardens and the Meadows. Leith, Gorgie, and Dalry were all to be razed to form industrial zones.
