| Comment | GCC have very little interest in the arts. They sit in meetings, nodding and agreeing but rarely come up with the goods. Their problem is attitudinal. To them, supporting the arts is not a vote winner. I had one senior official years ago dismiss fully costed and business planned proposals with, "Aye but folk would rather have football pitches" He was a big fat Labour Councillor, the SNP are a bit better but most of the time they claim they are still trying to unravel the mess of 70 years of Labour, which for the most part, I believe, but their will is weak... Sauchie needs art and culture more than it realises! |
