| Comment | Yeah there's definitely benefits to both. I think an unappreciated benefit of trams from a climate change standpoint is specifically the fact that they disrupt car traffic and make it less convenient to drive, which forces more people onto public transport. It's annoying but effective.
There's definitely space for trolleys and trams, and having both gives important flexibility, but if we're in a hurry to get something set up, I say get the trolleys in first, and you can add rails later to turn trolleyways into trams wherever capacity demands. |
