Comment | I know there are vociferous tram vs trolley bus arguments in the rail and transport communities but it would seem that trolley buses are easier to implement than trams. A hybrid approach can also work where each mode is more appropriate. The cycling argument does concern slip hazards, which are difficult to resolve but also literally cycle wheels getting stuck in the tram tracks. The thing with batteries is that while progress is being made, it's not being made quick enough and a direct power alternative already exists and thrives in over 60 European cities |
