The problem I have with trams is that they would run along wide streets which already have fairly adequate bus coverage. The last plan I saw would mean that it went along wide streets like GWR and missed areas such as Possilpark, Springburn, dalmarnock etc which are the areas which need better connectivity.

I thought that surely better subway connections would be better. This is as they will not need existing road connection, they don't lead to on-street congestion and can shorten journey times but linking up areas while bypassing major obstacles.

For example going from the Gorbals to Dalmarnock or Celtic Park, or from the Gorbals to Ibrox would be faster and easier with a subway rather than a tram.
