Comparing property rental to slavery is embarrassing. There’s no need to say much more than that. It’s certainly not an argument. Slavery is forced Labour for no pay and you can’t refuse or leave. Renting a flat that’s expensive is not forced; nobody has a right to live in the most expensive areas of Glasgow.
Everyone should have shelter, yes. A nice flat in the west end / south side, however, is not a right.
Shelter should also not be stolen from owners because people don’t like it. It’s very evident that the people suggesting this aren’t the people who would be forced to give up their property, right? Convenient that isn’t it. |
