As someone who lived for five years in Paisley, the answer is no. It is area dependant in terms of how rough but I lived in five flats and each one had at least one fucking terrible neighbour ie domestic abuse, drunkenly attempting to enter your flat or living in squalor and stinking out the close. The town has been dying on its arse for an age in terms of retail (you know its fucked when even McDonalds are jumping ship) and it's got an awful lot of utter mentalists living in it.

Upside is The Bull Inn is fucking brilliant and you get the occasional good gig. All in I'd look elsewhere.
