Okay, so I checked the title deeds and it does reference that there is voting and majority voting to get issues resolved, just as you said it seems pretty standard so that's good!
There is a door already there, it's just a standard door, I'd be looking at putting in a whole new one, big bastard that keeps people out ideally.
I've reached out to the council, and a factor to see if they can give me any advice going forward. Worse comes to it I'll start chapping doors and awkwardly asking if they can talk to their landlord about contacting me lol.
