I made the move three years ago initially as a student. No other US students from my course were able to stay. It is incredibly difficult to find accommodation outside of the student halls and even more difficult to find a sponsored job as a graduate. Loads of hoops to jump through. I'd recommend not trying to bring all of your belongings over besides necessities. Especially if you're just here as a student.
