| Comment | You'll get a letter from Scott & Co demanding full payment. Then you phone Scott & Co and explain you obvious can't pay it off in full and they'll set up a payment plan for you. They might be stubborn about it at first but if they are just say you'll submit your settlement offer to pay in installments in writing and do that, registered post. As long as your offer obviously isn't ridiculous they'll accept it or something close to it, particularly with written evidence that you've made a genuine attempt to resolve the issue.
