| Comment | This time of year is always shit. Pre covid I had liver resections booked for the first week post NY twice. Both times we didn't know until the day if I'd get the surgery because of flu and winter pressure on beds. Both times my surgery went ahead but anything non emergency/cancer related got cancelled.
The point being, winter pressure on the NHS is always awful over this time period. Add in Covid and the NHS which was already barely coping is at breaking point. This isn't surprising. |
