Comment | IMO you need to use common sense here. Everyone should continue to take lateral flow tests and keep you daughter isolated away from everyone else. If you all continue to test negative and she has recovered from symptoms and testing negative, and no-one else has symptoms and all still testing negative on lateral flow by the end of the year then you should enjoy new year within reason (don't go anywhere busy, wear masks and be cautious). There will be no consequences to not following the letter of the law and I commend you doing the "right thing" but for example in England the period is 7 days; An arbitrary geographic border doesn't make covid different and all around you there are fannies who know they are negative going on nights out and having house parties. These are the people causing problems, not you who wants to celebrate new year having tried to do the right thing. Sorry to hear your household has been impacted by this.
