Yeah, good point. There is a whole dinner scene in the book that was missed out, but that would have just sagged the movie and lost so much momentum. It works in the book and I'm sad we didn't get it, but I fully understand why.

I loved how much emphasis was placed on the previous Duke dying in a bullfight. I don't think it's mentioned in the film but the mounted bull's head you see is actually the bull that killed him.


It's a strong metaphor for the situation the Atriedes find themselves in.
