Id still go to shelter because they can help you with the right place,but hey will support you and they will back you up if you need any sort of help with the housing officers. The housing officers can be pushy. Theres also an organisation called turning point which are even better with the support with being homeless and dealing with the council but you need to ask your housing officer for a referral.
