Comment | Sorry to read this, I can only imagine the pressure you (both) might be feeling. Things can get better, and utilising things like therapy can be a big step in the right direction! I don't know a therapist to recomend, but just wanted to lay out that many workplaces in Scotland are now very reasonable with booking appointment time off for mental health reasons. Particularly (but not limited to) if the sessions are prescribed through the NHS. Provisions for therapy over the phone or on video call are obviously much improved over the last 2 years so coupled with the remote capability it's much more possible for therapy to take place as part of a work day. If your loved one were able to see their GP to discuss their issues and specifically request one-on-one talking therapy they should at least be put on the waiting list which gets that ball rolling. Also, it's my understanding that online remote therapy is possible through specialised websites. I believe some are 'scammy' in that the person on the other end isn't fully qualified (or qualified at all), but its entirely possible one exists if you search that kind of thing up. Even one of the more reputable but less qualified ones may help bridge the gap in a Samaritans kind of way until you find a professional who meets your needs. All the best, and feel free to reach out to me here if you want to talk, I've been through similar experiences in the past! Good luck! |
