I reckon its one of those things that requires large scale adoption to become cheaper, but right now because of the niche its in it will be at a slight premium. It will get cheaper, but there really ought to be incentives.

In countries like Sweden, they have something called Pant. All cans, plastic bottles and glass vessels have a rebate amount applied to them and there are machines in convenient locations where you can process all your recycling and receive a small payout. It might only be a few quid, but its enough to incentivise a high level of uptake. Anyway sorry I'm rambling now. Don't understand why these type of initiatives are not supported by Scottish Government on a large scale.
