I have lived in Dumbarton for most of my life and recently sold a cracking top floor, two bed tenement flat there for 101k - in a very safe and quiet area.

Like every town, it has some rough parts, however it's a generally lovely wee place.

Pros are that it's cheap, safe and picturesque, with great transport links to Glasgow.

The cons are that it has an very depressing town centre, and very little culture - no cinema, book shops etc.
