| Comment | Yikes! Redundancies are never fun. If he is in a union, get on to the rep. Check if you have any policies that might cover a loss of earnings in this case.
The holiday seems....odd and will depend on when the dates the company uses to run holidays, but most just Jan-Dec and this is why I find it odd that he has burnt a week already. Time to check contract and holidays taken.
May also want to check on any redundancy pay that may be due (this could be why the company is potentially playing silly buggers with holidays, it reduces their liability).
