Haha, that was standard building practice here (Scotland) for centuries.

Cavity style wall construction with outer leaf of decorative sandstone blocks, inner leaf of rough sandstone or clay brick, cavity infilled with loose fill construction rubble of the day.

Ditto floor sound deadening, typically they used coal ash run off from power plants & just shoved \~200mm of the stuff on a bearer mounted board between the floor joists.
