Depends what you need advice on exactly. Estate agencies won't be much help with a mortgage but they'll be able to give you some pointers on the area itself and general market knowledge, which streets are selling well etc etc. Some are more helpful than others, I found a lot of them were just giving the "aye it's dead competitive around here" chat. Other than that you can speak to a mortgage adviser or your bank if you need advice on the financial side.

I wouldn't worry too much about future letting potential as I'm guessing you're not taking out a buy-to-let mortgage. BTL mortgages are a different product entirely and usually require a much higher deposit. You can let out your property on a residental mortgage but there's obviously restrictions and you'd need agreement from your lender. There's a good market for 1 bed flats in Glasgow so like I say, wouldn't worry too much at this stage.
