>The experience as a pedestrian in Glasgow is terrible

I've visited the USA, Italy, Hungary, Greece and Cape Verde in the last 5 years. Scotland is absolute light years ahead of all of them for pedestrianisation. Germany was really the only country I've visited semi-recently that's had just as good or a better pedestrian experience.

In my probably wrong opinion, peoples attitudes are one of the reasons for increased accidents. I've been driving about 10 years and have noticed even since then, people speed all the time, people don't slow as much as they should at give ways or stop at solid/stop lines. People are impatient as fuck and want to get to where they're going as soon as they can and fuck everyone else that's in the way.

I live in Castlemilk and my missus is from Renfrew and I use the M74/M8 a lot. One of the trends I've noticed is when coming on to the motorway from the sliproad, if I'm joining and end up matching the speed of the car in the joining lane behind me, they'll speed up so I can't get in. Some form of "this guy isn't going ahead of me" attitude. People are selfish as fuck nowadays and don't give a fuck about anyone else and it's translating into drivers now.

Fuck, I've even seen drivers refuse to slow down/move over for emergency vehicles unless they can nip into a lane which doesn't slow their speed down.
