I don't think the punishment for CARRYING the knife would solve violence.

I was assaulted with a wooden plank. Was smashed into the side of my head. Lost a year of my life basically, almost 50 weeks on sick leave and more than 2 years to get back to normal.

My attacker got 100 hours community service.

The fact that someone can get actual jail time for merely carrying the knife with him when someone who could have killed me basically walks free from court despite previous convictions says something is definitely wrong with the system...

And I don't think it's too low punishments for carrying a knife.
