Illegal eviction is a criminal offence, even if OP is a sub tenant this is still an illegal eviction and he has a right to be let in the house. The police would turn up, knock on the door when the tenant is in and when they come out establish that OP was a tenant/ sub tenant and have them let in the property.
If the tenant wasn’t in OP can force entry but would be liable for any damage caused - it’s also best to contact the police if you’re doing this in case someone phones them to report a house breaking. |
