Absolutely! Also not all breed of dogs enjoy spending a lot of time outside and not all dogs from breeds that do enjoy being outside are fond of it. They have their own personalities and preferences too.


Also this whole generic "it's not fair to the dog" nonsense really drives me up the wall. Dogs are pets, they did not end up in your flat after running wild in a forest. Dogs are the first ever domesticated animal by humans. Some 15k years ago.


Just research a breed of dog that is more of a couch potato AND make sure you can train your dog or if you can't you can pay someone else to do so. Some breeds are more difficult to train than others and this is what you need to look at when choosing a dog. It does not matter you don't have a yard as long as you keep taking them out AND engaging with them.
