You’re not paying someone else’s mortgage. You are paying rent, in order to be allowed to live there. Many landlords don’t use the rental income to pay off the capital so the notion that the tenant is paying off the landlord’s mortgage is not true a lot of the time. The landlord can do whatever they want with the money - it is theirs. If they spend it on holidays instead does that appease you?
