I became a landlord by accident when the first flat I bought lost most of its value in the crash in 2008.

I’ve been a landlord for about 10 years now and I genuinely hope I’ve been a good one, to be honest I maintain the flats more than I do my own home.

I’ve had a few really long term tenants and make sure everything is fixed on time.

The rent we charge is to the lower end of the spectrum but to be honest I don’t really think that matters much as area dictates the price mostly.

So it’s possible to not be a prick and unlikely you’ll turn into a Thatcherite.

You will moan a lot about councils and regulations but try to remember they’re in place because some people are pricks..
