I understand pensions are not what they used to be, in the same way that the housing market is not what it used to be. It’s a different symptom of the same problem which is free market capitalism.

Equally, if someone is in the position to be able to buy a second home to rent out then really they are already wealthier than the majority.

Of course there is a super elite above these people that have unfathomable amounts of wealth, and that for things to really be able to change its these people that will need to be held to account and for their assets to be properly regulated. However I still believe morally it’s on everyone to think about the decisions they make and how they effect others in classes below them.
