Schoenstatt is a small 'retreat' in a beautiful location at the base of the Campsies just outside Lennoxtown. It was built by a German (I think) priest many decades ago as a place for people to go and be religious in peace for a few days.

It is generally frequented by quite devoted catholics who like to take a week to go and live like a nun/monk (fasting and vows of silence included). My mum and aunts used to go. It has lovely grounds and anyone can go for a walk round them, but you can't just stroll in to the main building; need to book ahead, I think.

But the point is, this is a religious retreat. Like a hostel for hard-core catholics; my mum went to mass every day for her entire life and even *she* found it a bit much!. I don't know why anyone would suggest Schoenstadt to anybody who wasn't already religiously active.
