I stay in South Lanarkshire, quicker and easier for me to get to the Fort or Braehead. I have absolutely no reason to travel to Sauchiehall Street to shop in M&S. That's without considering online shopping where I can order a whatever I want, know that its in stock and have it delivered to either my door or a local shop.
