Just hopping in on this one to add, it's also not something that many people are taught from a young age. It was never something covered in school, and a lot of families still see money as a bit of a taboo conversation topic. Here was me having never earned any money, never even having a bank account, then off to Uni and a load of credit card and massive overdraft offers coming left, right and centre. Only just getting back on track now in my 30s after about a decade of hiding my head in the sand and pushing debts from one place to the other.

It really should be a skill that's taught in schools, I mean economics is right there in the HE title, so why not add it in as part of the mandatory HE modules earlier at school. Might even encourage more people to take it further if it shifts the old skive of cooking and sewing (perhaps HE has changed a lot since I was at school though).
