Honestly, I think I would just look into a new car if it was me. Old cars are gonna get taxed heavier and heavier for emissions as time goes on and that’s almost a quarter of what you paid for the car you’re gonna spend to replace the engine. Could you maybe sell the car (for scrap even) and put it towards something new?

I know what you’re saying about car prices shooting up, the car I wanted was 8k at the start of 2021 and I ended up having to pay near enough 13k for it by the end of summer but it also meant I got a cracking price for my last car when I sold it. Hang in and keep checking round all the garages for 7 seaters. I reckon you can find something for less than 17k :)
