Never had a chip pan big enough to do the half pizza, but a big slice would do. Get one of the cheap pizzas (not frozen) and keep the cheese away from the edges. Make a batter (I just use plain flour, salt, pepper and beer, or cold fizzy water) coat the slice and deep fry. Works out fine, but it won't taste as good as those from a chippy because there'll be a lot more flavour in their oil.
