Most commuter towns around here are the same, i.e. boring but with good rail links into the city centre. East Dunbartonshire is more upmarket than the rest but not that much different really.
Bigger towns have more stuff in them. Avoid Airdrie and Larkhall like the plague, mostly anywhere else is fine
