Hi, my first degree was in social sciences and then I did the MSC IT at Glasgow University, which is a one year course.

I did have some previous experience in IT from school so starting wasn't too bad but it did ramp up. I'm now 5 years into a software development career and it's one of the best decisions I've ever made.

When I did it you could get funding for the fees if you were Scottish which was very helpful. Afterwards I managed to get a job relatively easily.

I know that CodeClan and that are a viable option but unfortunately some HR departments are quite strict on needing a degree. Hell one place even rejected me because I didn't have a 4 year degree in Computing Science.
