honestly I see a trauma therapist privately over zoom. Getting any kind of mental health service can be a waiting game and an uphill battle so I wouldn't recommend it unless you couldn't afford private. I don't say that to encourage anyone NOT to seek help if you need it, as there are things the GP can do for you like prescribe meds, put you on waitlists for specialists, and keep record of your mental health issues. I've just always preferred to go private when I could afford to so I could pick a therapist I got on with and could see immediately and regularly.

Many private therapists will offer options regarding payment if needed. I pay less than £50 a session after my therapist gave me a discounted rate due to my financial circumstances. In the past I have also done therapy fortnightly instead of weekly to cut costs.
