A lot depends on what the neighbours in your close are like.

If you keep yourself to yourself you're unlikely to get bother in most parts of the city these days.

Drumry Road East is decent for transport links and handy for the gym/pool if you're into either. The shopping centre's pretty depressing still but you've got everything you need in walking distance with Aldi, Iceland, B&M and all the usual shops around them. Not to mention Foodfayre with their 99p Morton's roll with any meat from the deli and salad. Youre right at Allardyce Retail Park if you head out the GWR end of the street with McDonalds, Starbucks, BK, Pizza hut, Sainsbury's, etc.

The Drum's still depressing though. Don't take anyone telling you it's on the up as meaning it's up and coming. Housing stock is being replaced in some areas (not around Drumry Road East) but don't expect to see anything approaching what people mean when they talk about Dennistoun (up and coming for 30 years) or even Govanhill to an extent. You're not going to get any hipsters encroaching with new business ideas in the Drum the way Govanhill sometimes sees.
