| Comment | Agree with this - seems you got lucky with a good GP. A few years ago I went to my GP mid withdrawals, hallucinations and all the bells and whistles. Got told I shouldn’t go cold turkey, go home and drink some wine in measured amounts (if I was capable of that wouldn’t be in the situation would I!) and I’d get an appointment for alcohol services in next few weeks. Alcohol services at least gave me a units measuring cup to be fair to them so that was something tangible! |
