Back in 2011 - not counting my stint in Il Cappuccino on Byres Rd at minimum wage (I think) - managed to land a temp p/t role paying £15k p/a after my MSc. Down in England-shire. It was really hard financially and super infuriating professionally! Very underemployed. Took ages to creep that up to a permanent role in my field - with the same employer - at £19k p/a. Stuck around a little more (half a year tops) then passed the role to someone else & moved back to Glasgow for a contractor opportunity at more like £35k p/a. |
