When course costs are what they are it's hard to expect people to ignore all financial realities and go with their heart. Coming from 10 years in biomed research, there does seem to be lack of focus on how these two parts of a career can be brought together though. People either tend to be all in on one of the other, which leads to a lot of unhappiness
