a) because you have a lot more rights as a tenant than down south
b) because that in no way prevents letting agencies and landlords from trying it on, so it's worth knowing your rights (e.g. it's illegal to charge any fees to the tenant other than the deposit, which must be held in an independent protection scheme) |
