This is a good post, genuinely, but I think you've got it the wrong way round.

You're right, 20 years ago Glasgow was a city that bred chaos, violence and "hard cunts".
Nobody can quite attribute one specific reason for it, just a clump of both societal and economical ones at the time.

But I think folk underestimate the level of policing that's went on to stamp this out over the past two decades. Police Scotland's violence reduction unit as well as the mass use of cctv across the city has absolutely demolished violent crime figures in Glasgow and the statistics show that.

In my opinion what this means is the amount of **real** hard cunts and heavies have mostly been caught and had 15 year shoved up their arse. It's nigh on impossible to get away with a serious assault, stabbing or murder in Scotland anymore just with social media and cctv. Folk will argue the polis are shite and for the most part I'd agree, but if yer on camera yer bang to rights.

Your uncle in my opinion is just an adult ned who's never grown up. I've got two uncles just like him. Never grown out of that "don't back down" culture, punching folk in pubs, sniffing gear every weekend, losing every job they've had, alienating and stealing from yer family and friends and bouncing from girlfriends couches to homeless units and everything in between. These cunts are the failed actors in the Glesga hard man play and their entire life is oot the window cause they don't know anything else.

There are still real heavies in Glasgow, organised crime and gangland activity is still rife. It's just now the cunts involved know to keep their mouth shit and don't do anything illegal in the public eye or where they'll be seen by cctv. 20 years ago everybody knew the hardest cunt in Glesga. Nowadays nobody does.
