And creating time delays by putting in barriers, fencing, contact details for support, monitored hot spots, etc., reduces impulsivity which is one of the biggest predictors of completed suicides. Of course it won't eliminate all suicides, but it will buy time for a good number of people and allow opportunity for intervention.
