I'd always love more fabric shops but it sounds a bit like you're describing bawn. Unless you decided to have a wider range of craft materials/leant less heavily into the sustainable angle.

I usually use mandors or bawn. Mandors has a decent enough range at reasonable prices and bawn has really lovely fabric at a lot dearer cost. I don't really use the crafts section in Mandors though, I find all their yarn quite uninspiring and I don't like using acrylic.

Something that hasn't really been done is using local fabric suppliers/textile artists for prints why I think could be really cool but might be a lot more expensive than people would be willing to pay. We're also limited by the climate here of what fibres can be local eg cotton isn't grown here.
