What helped spur me to buy is how much is a mortgage compared to your rent? You can spend thousands extra waiting and have the stress of not really knowing if prices are gonna come down. If they do, they'll always go back up so you won't lose the money you invested, just maybe not make quite as much profit.
I think prices are better now than they were when I was looking 6 months ago. Still have to go quite above asking but asking price has dropped some from what I can see.
