| Comment | The Academy is essentially part of a chain of venues, so it's easy for bands to get booked on a tour round all of them rather than making individual arrangements for each stop.
It also has most of the sound & lighting installed, compared to renting in (with the crew to bring it all up the stairs)
Barras is certainly uniquely good. I've been noticing that a lot of the bands playing there recently could conceivably be filling much bigger rooms. It might be that they're making a point of choosing a Barrowland gig over others. |
