Electric storage heaters can be ridiculously expensive, especially if they're old. Have a look on line for guides, but the trick is to make sure they're only storing up heat overnight and releasing it during the day. There might be two dials on each heater - input and output - if the input is always turned up they will be using electricity 24/7 which will cost a fortune. Turn it up overnight and down during the day. Use the output as needed.

These heaters really are a pain in the arse as they need constant attention, but could save you a few bob.
