My flat in 2016 was a new build and it was a dream as I kept getting outbid and it took the stress out of it at fixed price and a blank canvas. Having to wait a year to paint was fine and I only had one snag that the fixed within a month.

I moved and bought a house late last year and it's been... Not such a fun time. There were completion delays which caused some drama in chain and the finish is... Pretty horiffic. My snag list is over 100 and I feel like a depressed sim with very low environment points waiting to get everything fixed.

Look very carefully at any show home detail work and finishes and where possible find owners on a development Facebook group or nextdoor and see what they make of the developer. Had I known the finish was so poor with this one I wouldn't have done it I don't think.
